I graduated from the GEBCO program in 2014 with an Advanced Ocean Mapping Certificate. It is a unique program aimed at international students, and it's probably the best of its kind.

As Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and member of the International Committee for the Occupational Therapy Department, I was awarded a Global Education Center faculty international development grant.

Meet international alum, Ariel Pueyo Encinas from Bolivia! Ariel graduated in May of 2016 earning a Bachelor of Arts in French, with a dual major in Political Science and International Affairs.

During my interviews with Eleonora Olsmats (Senior and Engineering Physics major from Stockholm, Sweden) and Arzum Sepici (Junior and Psychology major from Antalya, 土耳其), we discussed the topic of friendliness and developing friendships in the United States as international students.

Medini Weerasinghe is a doctoral candidate in Integrative and Organismal Biology with a concentration in plant genetic engineering from Kandy, 斯里兰卡.

“.... I feel like the American culture, it’s more like you have to survive on your own, like you don’t have your parents. It was like {in 意大利}, oh I don’t know how to do this, I’m just going to go to my Mom whereas here {in America} you have to do that.”

Kherlen Oyunbaatar is a Junior from the capital city of Ulaanbaatar, 蒙古 研究ing Bioengineering. During our discussion, Kherlen talked about how improving her English helped her to better connect with Americans.
